Electronic Discipline Procedure

Teacher

1. Go to Eastern’s website and select PowerSchool from the Staff tab. If you are redirected to PowerTeacher, you must first logout, by choosing the initialed icon in the upper-right hand corner and choosing logout, before accessing PowerSchool.

2. On the left side under  Functions, select Submit Referral:

3. Complete Incident Detail:

A. Incident Type: Select Discipline from dropdown.

B. Incident Date: Select a current date or a previous date; not a future date.

C. Time: Enter the approximate time of the incident.

D. Time Frame: Select After-SchoolBefore-School, or During-School from dropdown.

E. Title: No selection. Administrator will assign the title.

F. Description: Enter a factual, objective, clinical account of the incident

i. Maintain professional role

ii. No opinions, judgments, or personal characterizations

G. Location: Select location options from dropdown.

H. Location Description: (Optional) Enter additional details of location.

I. Prepared by: No Entry--Leave Blank.

J. Financial Impact ($): No Entry--Leave Blank.

4. Add the participants to the Incident Builder, by:


A. Click on the green plus icon to access all participants.

B. Type in the last name you are looking for and click the blue Search button,

C. Select the relevant name from the list and click Add,

D. Add Participant Attributes:

i. Most of the time you will: Select Offender from dropdown,

ii. Click the blue box at the bottom to Add Participant Attributes

E. Finish Incident Builder:

i. Student Name populates the space (i.e., Offenders)

ii. Click Submit Incident to complete the referral.
